This is Senses777 from gamedev. I just got back into Warcraft 3 and then my old map (not sure if you're into W3 anymore) and was looking for your protector again. I read a few of your old archived posts at war3campaigns, (who are now wc3sear.ch, and have the most ignorant propaganda-like biased section on map protecting I will ever see).

Honestly just wondering what you are doing right now, project or otherwise. Do you plan to play World of Warcraft?

I'm not really into WC3 any more, but I'm still actively updating my protector as you've probably noticed if you read the readme =-P

I haven't tested it against the deprotector, but for now I wouldn't be surprised if the deprotector worked. Even if it does work though, remeber that ExtProtect obfuscates all the variable names so at best you'd end up with proper gui triggers with everything (triggers, variables, unit references) all named wrong. That should make it difficult to reverse engineer any map even if it can make remake gui triggers.

I am still working on making some changes to extprotect ot ensure it works with all maps, and I woldn't be surprised if those fixes broke the deprotectors. It will be a while before these changes are complete though, because they require learning compiler theory and I've got quite a way to go towards that. I'm also working on some other (not yet announced) projects not at all related, and they take up even more of my time.

I did notice you were actively working on the protector (that's half the reason I posted here), so I assumed you might still be interested in warcraft. Warcraft is the type of game I play for awhile then stop for awhile then go back again. I'v put more than a hundred hours of work into my map and I hate to see it go unfinished, so I always return to that, though I think it's a project that can never really be complete.

I tried the deprotector on my map protected with your protector. It opened, but the triggers were all missing (even though the program said it would always be able to restore triggers at least in custom text), and the program doesn't restore the .doo file so units are all missing, though I figure this could be fixed with some effort making a script to generate it off the jass file.

Basically, it opened, but was useless.
