How exactly does the obfuscation work? When I protect a map, then unprotect it, it seems like I can read all my code and GUI triggers normally, does it use an algorithm to obfuscate code rather than just reducing variable and function name lengths?

Nevermind, I guess the reason the code is not obfuscated is because it stored an encrypted backup of my map, and I accessed it through my password.

You are correct - it stores all the modified files inside an encrypted archive (using your entered password) so that it can destructively modify the 'real' files any way it needs to.

Whenever you unprotect, it just extracts the original files and overwrites the modified versions.

The variable names and such are generated entirely randomly, following the format O and then a number (I figured that was nice and hard to read =-).
